I just finished Krista Schlyer’s excellent book Continental Divide. It covers the US/Mexico borderlands, the piece of shit border wall, immigration policy and the horrible consequences of bad political decisions. It’s worthy reading for anyone interested in these topics.
“This is what’s at stake in the borderlands. We face a moment where we must look in the face of the jaguar, one of the most beautiful creatures on Earth, and decide whether this wall — a wall that offers no hope of solving anything — is worth the loss of something so exquisite.”
